Arunachal: Governor made an aerial survey of Miao-Vijoynagar Road

He advised the officials to start working on the abutment and central pier, so that the bridge frame which is already under construction at Kolkata can be launched without delay.

Continuing his endeavour to expedite the construction of Miao-Vijoynagar Road, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) made an aerial survey of the road on his way back from Vijoynagar on 31st August 2019. The Governor, accompanied by officials from district administration, rural works department and environment and forests also visited the wrecked causeway made a spot visit for the firsthand study of this causeway, which has for decades blocked the further progress of the road.

He advised the officials to start working on the abutment and central pier, so that the bridge frame which is already under construction at Kolkata can be launched without delay. The Governor in consultation with Superintendent Engineer RWD,Tirap, Longding and Changlang, Er. Tannu Tamin, fixed mid-November 2019 as the date for the launch of the Bridge.

The Governor advised all the stakeholders to involve themselves in expediting Miao-Vijoynagar road construction. He urged upon the government officials and the people to look at the Vijoynagar habitats from the national security angle and to do everything possible to have good and happy presence of Indian Citizens in Vijoynagar to serve as our magnified eyes and sharp hearing ears.

The Governor said that construction of the road is also needed for the protection of the prayed wildlife flora and fauna, in the famed Namdapha National Park, where due to non-existence of road, the forest department personnel cannot reach to monitor the safety and free movement of the wildlife and precious herbs and plants. He cautioned the construction agencies to follow all the rules of protected forests and the Tiger reserves.
