Itanagar
Arunachal pradesh CM Pema Khandu stated that his government will emphasise on e-governance measures to ensure good and simplified governance. With this aim Khandu today gave a go-ahead to three important Information Technology-enabled projects, which includes – Survey Management System (SMS), Metadata Dashboard and Early Flood Warning Systems.
The survey feature in the SMS system will allow the user to create, send, and collect responses for basic surveys quickly and easily; used as crowd sourcing to get inputs from the common public. The information generated then will help in formulating policies based on the responses from the public. Also the benefit of such system is that it will encourage participative governance, observed Sonam Chombay, Secretary, Information Technology.
Giving out a power point presentation in a meeting also attended by the Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, the state IT team spoke on the advantages of having a metadata dashboard system to have easy analysis of the data.
Information and data when fed to the dashboard will help the concerned Ministers and heads of the department to monitor the department financials and progress of the projects. It will also help to accurately pin point the problems by having a macro view of the projects being executed and its status.
Further, a satellite based IT solution for early flood warning system was also showcased during the meeting and the CM and the Deputy CM instructed that a detailed presentation on this matter be organized at an early date.
