Arunachal: 12-hour Lower Subansiri bandh called by ALSDSU passes off peacefully

The 12 hour bandh on Tuesday called by All Lower Subansiri District Students Union ALSDSU passed off peace full in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The union had called the bandh to press their demands pertaining to alleged segregation of fake, forged and excess payments made in the TAH compensation and arrests of officials and persons involved in this forgery.
During the bandh, Market all the government, semi government, private and public established were closed during the bandh call day. Not even a single vehicle was fly in the road during the bandh.
According to press release issued by the union, there demands were Segregation of fake, forged, excess and genuine beneficiaries lists, action against all the fake and forged beneficiaries, arrests of all the government officials involved in the TAH compensation scam and Immediate start of land acquisition which fall under RoW from potin to Anya gate stretch of TAH.
The Union said that, “this was the first phase of bandh called by the union”. And if the district administration will not fullfill their demand , then union will call the second phase of bandh, for which the date will be announced soon, the release said.
Meanwhile the District Magistrate Chukhu Takar has declared the 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh called by the All Lower Subansiri District Students Union on October 15 as illegal. He stated that such bandh calls cause untold misery and hardship to medical patients, students and the business community in particular and the public at large.
DM Chukhu Takar has further ordered that any damage or destruction to public or private properties shall be recovered from the bandh callers.
