ABSU stage Dharna against shortage of text book distribution

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) staged two hours dharna on Friday at DEEO in Kokrajhar against the massive shortage of Bodo medium text books after weeks of start of new session.
Hundreds ABSU members and school students taking placards, festoons were sited in the dharna and shouted anti government slogans for the education department not fulfill the text books as per assured after end of the new session.
Talking to reporters Lowrence Islary General Secretary of ABSU said that the very serious matters in relation to the textbook distribution of the Bodo medium textbooks all over Assam. The massive shortage of Bodo medium textbooks repeated negligence by the Government of Assam this has brought the treat to the existence of Bodo Medium Education under the state of Assam.
He also mentioned that through this dharna the ABSU sets dateline to the government of Assam to resolve all grievances related to Bodo Medium text books by 15 February 2017. Further if the grievances persist the all DEEO and BEEO office will be locked.
In Class VI Mathematics book, page 297-304 have Assamese language instead of Bodo. Pages 9-24 of class VII Bodo medium Mathematics book have Assamese language. Likewise Class VI Hindi textbooks are damaged by cutting. The class VIII English text books are in total mess in page numbers.
