Trans Arunachal Mountain Terrain Cycling Expedition completed

The expedition team traversed through the high altitude regions (9000-15000ft) of Arunachal Pradesh

A twenty member team of the Indian Army today completed its long, challenging and adventurous Trans Arunachal Mountain Terrain Cycling Expedition covering a distance of 1494 Km within a span of 30 days. The team was flagged off on 25 October 2019 from Khirmu, Arunachal Pradesh. The expedition team traversed through the high altitude regions ( 9000-15000ft ) of Arunachal Pradesh starting from Khirmu to Pasighat which finally culminated at Missamari, Assam.

Despite the odds of rugged terrain, High Altitude conditions, snow covered tracks and rains, the expedition team completed this formidable challenge, showcasing the grit, determination and  indomitable spirit of the Indian Army.

Apart from promoting a spirit of adventure amongst the troops, the expedition team reached out to the local populace in far flung areas including school children, ex-servicemen and  next of kins of our valiant martyrs, thereby spreading the message of National Integration and  Solidarity.

The expedition team also conducted medical camps at nine remote locations for the local populace. The team also spread the message of nature conservation amongst the local populace by planting saplings at schools, monasteries & villages.

Negotiating through the steep passes of Sela (13700ft), Bomdila ( 9500ft ), and  Y – Junction (15200Ft), the spirited expedition team reached its final destination Missamari on 25 November 2019 wherein, it was flagged in by General Officer Commanding, Missamari Military Station who appreciated the achievements of the expedition team and highlighted the role of adventure activities in Army to inculcate leadership qualities, camaraderie, team spirit & resolve to achieve victory against all odds.
