Arunachal: BRO starts blacktopping of Tawang-Bumla road
The Bum La Pass is located about 37 km away from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, at the Indo-China border above 15,200 ft above sea level

It is good news for Army as well as for tourists, who want to visit the world famous -BUM LA PASS in Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh. Border Roads Organisation has started black topping of the road leading Tawang-to-Bumla road at Indo- China border in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. It shall be the highest asphalted road in Arunachal pradesh situated at a height of 15200 ft.
BRO, is engaged in construction of the road from Tawang to Bumla. This road is very important for the army, besides that large number of tourists vehicles also plying in this road.
The construction of Tawang-Bumla road has been challenging for BRO as most of the months in a the whole year because of the either rainfall and heavy snowfall.
It must be noted that Bumla holds Indo China border post meet several times in a year. Across the border, road construction activities are also on in China.
The road to Bum La is also a historical route, the People’s Liberation Army of China invaded India during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Here in Bum La Pass one of the fiercest battle took place in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
