Shifting of NIT at Jote not possible until release of fund by Ministry-NIT Chairman.

The pending bills of contractors of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) permanent campus at Jote may only be disbursed after release of the payment by finance ministry as per the budget proposal, said NIT (Board of Governor) Chairman Prof. Anil D.Sahasrabuddhe.
Prof. Sahasrabuddh was replying to media on the sideline of the 5th Convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) here today. He informed that ” the expenditure is exceeded about 70 crore against the sanction budget was Rs 280 crore in the first phase” that is the main reason the govt is not clearing the fund.
We started everything in the permanent campus at Jote but nothing is completed in this circumstances we are unable to start the academic classes over there said, Prof. Sahasrabuddh.
If the govt release some limited fund on priority basis, then we may complete the construction of one Boys and Girls hostel in all respect, he said.
Before starting the classes in the Jote campus, we need electricity, clean drinking water facilties, internet and mobile connectivity, ambulance and medical facility, boundary wall and a good road. If these thing will ready then we can start by next semester in July next. The students of under graduate will be shifted but for post graduate , it will take another one and half year, he said.

At present the facilities is limited here at Yupia but once the new campus is completed the complete campus of Yupia will be shifted, the new campus will be hundred times better than the preset one.
He appeal the state government and PWD department for providing a good road to Permanent campus at Jote so that the academic classes is began by July 2019. He added.
