Arunachal Pradesh DGP R P Upadhyaya has called upon the police personnel to exercise restraint on any bad habit and illegal activities during duty hours, while asserting on taking pledge to uphold the sanctity and dignity of the uniform.
Participating in the Sampark Sabha organized by Lower Subansiri District Police at Abotani Hall on Tuesday, the DGP said: “The present state government has left no stones unturned to modernize the department by and equipping it with the best of facilities. The welfare of the police personnel has also been taken up with a new vigour. We, in turn, have to pledge to uphold the sanctity and dignity of the uniform.”
“It is our primary duty to be disciplined. A mistake committed by an individual can harm the reputation and well being of the entire police fraternity,” he said.
During the Sampark Sabha, the issues pertaining to transfer and promotion of police personnel, prioritizing govt accommodations to outsiders, vehicle requirements for the IRBn and infrastructure requirements etc were highlighted. He assured to look into the matter soon on priority basis.
He also awarded commendation certificates with mementos to police personnel for their commendable services rendered to the public.
Earlier, the DGP inaugurated recreational centres at PS, Ziro and SP office and a conference hall at SP office.
In a separate meeting at SP office, he reviewed the crime scenario of Lower Subansiri district.
Later, he inspected the Fire Station at Ziro and assured to look into the requirements of the Fire department.
SP Dr Hemant Tiwari, Dy SP T Wangsa and officers and the entire police personnel were present.
