NF Railway Offered help for flood affected areas, running special trains

In view of ongoing flood situation in Northeast region especially Assam, NF Railways under the guidance of Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu has offered all sorts of possible help to the affected State Governments.
After having talks with the Chief Ministers of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, Railway Minister instructed officials to ensure that drinking water supply, food grains, medicines, healthcare facilities & food grain movement for North East should be given priority transportation by Railways.
He also directed the officials to extend possible assistance in repairing roads so that smooth connectivity may be provided for rescue & relief. He also emphasised upon coordination with the National Disaster Management teams working in Assam.
Chahatey Ram General Manager, N.F.Railway alongwith other senior officials of N.F.Railway is also monitoring the situation closely.
It may be mentioned here that, Additional General Manager of N.F.Railway alongwith other senior already have had discussion with the Commissioner and Secretary (Revenue & Disaster Management), Govt. of Assam, yesterday and offered all sorts of help from N.F.Railway including relief and restoration apart from food items, drinking water bottles and cattle feed. N.F.Railway has also deputed Doctors and Medical staff with materials at North Lakhimpur and Dhemaji
It may be mentioned here that due to strict monitoring, Rail services are fully operational & have not been affected by the flood in Assam.
Northeast Frontier Railways officials are keeping a keen watch on the situation. To help passenger travel to distant places, N.F.Railway will be running special trains from Guwahati towards Murkongselek and Silchar.
