Landslide on Bhalukpong-Bomdila road, Mahindra Bolero severely damage

A Mahindra Bolero Pickup severely damaged when it hit by landslide on Bhalukpong-Bomdila road today early morning.

Today early morning at around 4 AM when a Mahindra Bolero Pick bearing registration No- AS 01 FC 9348 which was going toward Bomdila when find a shooting stone the owner Nilut Saikia  and driver Khukan Biswas come out of  to sideline the stone  was hit by landslide and the vehicle was severely damaged, however both of them escaped unhurt.

The drivers and vehicle owner who went through the said road are at their own risk and many of them are being informed at the Bhalukpong check gate or at Tippi and few other landslide area where the workers are at working.

The local administration of Bhalukpong have issued executive order for prohibition of plying of vehicle on June 19 the said stretch of road from Bhalukpong-Bomdila after severe landslide and road blockage  it got blocked at around 3 Km from Tippi at around 4 AM today. The road got blocked as which was normalised after two days and traffic was allowed to go as the man and machine of GREEF are in job there and the road is also being maintained by them.

Since the area is landslide prone and felling of shooting stones are continued.

However the administration have issued direction for maintaining precautionary measures and the police personnel have been kept at few vulnerable places for compliance of the order.

EAC Bhalukpong when contacted said that we are continuously coordinating the GREEF authority and also in touch with the local panchayat leaders as and when necessary for providing rescue and relief. The water supply pipeline which was under restoration on war footing was about to restored today badly affected again, though AE, PHE Aju Khonjuju alongwith workers and mechanic are working there and hopeful the pipeline would be restored and the Bhalukpong township water supply may be resume after 9 days.
