BSF Organise Medical Seminar and CME


A medical seminar and Continuing Medical Examination (CME) was organized at FTR HQ BSF Shillong on 20th June 2016 and was attended by eminent doctors from NEIGRIHMS, Civil Hospital Shillong, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF and reputed private hospitals of Shillong too. Senior Medical officers of BSF from various parts of India came to Shillong for attending the seminar.



The aim of organizing such seminar cum CME is to enhance and update the knowledge in the field of medical profession and to know the latest development happening around in the medical field. As the doctors of the BSF generally remain on borders and far-flung areas of this vast country, such events enable them to familiarize with the latest development and advancement happening in the medical fields. This also provide opportunity to share their experiences of working in the extreme conditions at the remotest of the places where BSF is deployed. So such type of medical seminar covering various health related topics and discussion on latest trends of treatment with regard to various diseases, gives them opportunity to keep them updated.

The medical seminar was inaugurated by Dr H L Raskaran, Inspector General/ Director (Medical), BSF. All the delegates were welcomed by Shri P K Dubey, Inspector General, Meghalaya FTR, BSF. During this annual event, Dr B R Medhi, Medical Specialist & Consultant, Gastro Entrologist – delivered guest lecture on the topic “Common Medical problem in Geriatric Population” and various speakers delivered lecture on different medical topics, which was deliberated by the eminent panellist from NEIGRIHMS, Hope Clinic & Bethany hospital. All the delegates were presented with a memento & certificate of participation.

At the end Dr A C Bhardwajan, DIG(Med)/ MS Composite Hospital, Shillong thanked all the dignitaries, delegates & speakers for their active participation and closed the CME.
