Assam: Hanging Bridge over Paso river Collapse, 48 Injured

48 people injured after hanging bridge over Paso river collapses in Pakke Kessang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

As per latest information received from Pradip Klita, OC, Seijosa Police Station , 48 person has been injured,  10 of them has been referred to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital . Kalita alongwith SP and DC will visit the accident site tomorrow and enquire aboyt the incident. Meanwhile till the filling this report, any FIR in connection with this accident yet to receive . 

 

Seijosa 

At least 25 people were injured when a hanging bridge over Paso river at Namara area in Pakke Kessang district of Arunachal Pradesh collapsed at a picnic spot along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on Saturday.

The incident took place at about 2:00 pm in which at least 25 people were injured, 5 of them are grievously . The injured persons were rushed to Biswanath civil hospital in Assam.

According to, Jimy Cheram, SP of Pakke Kessang district, one of the ropes had snapped as more than 50 people were crossing the Bridge. Some managed to hold on, but many others, including young children, fell into the ravine below. Injured picnickers have been sent to Biswanath civil hospital.

The area is very famous as picnic spot and several hundred of people gathered at the area for enjoying picnic when the tragedy happened, informed Cheram.

Meanwhile the OC of Seijosa Police station, Mr P Kalita has been assigned for investigation of the incident.
