However there was a video clip goes viral in social media in which Anarul’s brother is claiming that his brother is alive and kidnapped by local people, which is totally false, said both SP and DC of kurung Kumey.
Explaining details about this case to Arunachal24, SP Informed that ” on July 21 last, a written complaint was received from one Md. Akramul Islam of Laluk, Lakhimpur district, regarding the missing of his brother brother Anarul Islam from July 15.
As per the Akramul’s complaint , Anarul was working in Koloriang market and has a good business relation with Riya Maya wife of Kama Bagang of Koloriang, three others were also allegedly named in the case and named an eye witness.
“On receipt of the FIR a case was registered in Koloriang PS vide Case No.34/19 U/S 365/34 IPC and investigation was taken up immediately,” informed SP Kurung Kumey.
“During the initial investigation, suspected prime accused Kama Bagang and his wife Riya Maya and the alleged victim were found missing. However the alleged eye witness was repeatedly interrogated but he denied seeing any act of kidnapping. He informed to the police during interrogation that the alleged victim Anarul Islam and his brothers had debt with him and were reportedly running away as such he concocted the story of kidnapping to get back his debt in return of which he offered to negotiate in the case,” informed SP Kurung Kumey.
Other alleged accused, Pitter Bagang and Riya Tang were also detained and made sustained interrogation but their role in the instant case could not be found, SP added.
SP also informed that after sustained technical investigation, electronic surveillance and raids in Koloriang and Nirjuli, both prime suspect Kama Bagang and his wife Riya Maya were arrested on July 31 and remanded to 6 days Police custody.
“After sustained and intensive interrogation, prime accused Kama Bagang confessed to the crime. He stated that on July 14, he learnt that his wife Riya Maya had cheated him and was engaged in extra-marital relation with the victim Anarul Islam. This angered him and on July 15 morning he searched for Anarul around his shop, followed him and forcefully took him from a spot near Pakpu village road Tinali (about 5 km from Koloriang) to a hanging foot suspension bridge over river Kurung near Paba village and killed him,” “As per Kama Bagang’s confession, After killing Anarul, he threw his body in Kurung River. informed SP.
Search for victim’s body in Kurung River was made but due to heavy current and muddy water, body of victim could not be found till now. However the search for victim’s body is in progress,” added SP.
