The Arunachal pradesh state commission for women, conducted a day long legal awareness camp cum workshop at Jang, in the Addl. DC  conference hall. The meeting witnessed participation, from HODs, NGOs and general public. ADC Jang  Lobsang Wangchu Bapu, highlighted the issues related to women that needs to be addressed.

Mrs Techi Hunmai, highlighted the powers and functions of the APSCW, and also spoke at length regarding various issues relating to women and children. The legal advisor for the commission, Mrs  Karmu Chotten, addressed the crowd on need for registration of marriages and law relating to women.

SP Tawang SS Kalsi also addressed the gathering regarding the POCSo act,  its need to be implemented properly and also the need for better awareness.

SDMO CHC Jang Dr. Rinchen Neema highlighted on the issues relating to breast cancer, Menstrual hygiene and cervical cancer. He reiterated the need for better campaign on this issue.

Various topics like PWDVA(prevention of women from domestic violence act)were also taken up by Mrs Likha Joya, member APSWC.

The vice chairperson APSWC Mrs H.Tawsik encouraged every women participant to be aware of their rights and aslo actively participate in the local government bodies.

The chairperson  APSWC Mrs Radhilu Chai Techi, addressed the crowd on various issues relating to women. She also interacted with many women participants regarding the querries and issues they faced.

The members of Arunachal Pradesh State women commission, shall interact with the HODs, NGOs and general public tomorrow at Tawang headquarters.
