Main motto of organising Siang Cup football tournament is to tap the budding talents among the children’s specially the girls- Mone Apang .
The 2nd edition of the Siang cup football tournament inaugurated here at Donyi Polo Tea Estate football ground amid huge gathering with enthuse and fun fare.
Addressing the inaugural function as chief guest Ilam Chai Wari Pvt Ltd (Nepal) Vice President Robin Banarjee said that it should be our endeavour that we should first promote the girl child who are in form of mother, sister, wife , daughters. Once they are promoted, she could help other members in their work as well they can earn, name, fame not for herself but for the community, state and nation. He also refers like MaryKom, PT Usha and others.
Siang Cup football tournament Organising Committee Chairperson Mone Apang inform that our main motto of organising the tournament is to tap the budding talents among the children’s specially the girls. We have been very successful in completion of the 1st edition wherein 5 member got opportunity to participate in soccer tournament under 19 in Denmark in August 17 last.
She said that the tournament is being organised by Donyi Polo Mission in collaboration with Soccer Foundation of India. (SFI). This time also the winner will be given opportunity to play in Dhoon Cup.
She said that experience coach from Dubai and Assam are taking part who are also imparting coaching and grooming them to become a football player. The tourney is like a festival where the girls are learning skills and personality development.
She thanks the locals and parents who have come and support and encourages the mach as well as motivated the children.
All Manipur Mukna Association (AMMA) Executive Committee Member Khomdram Gulapi Singh attended as special guest.
Future Generation (NGO) Chairman Omak Apang, Donyi Polo Mission Secretary H Sharma, local and public leaders among others were present on the occasion.
All total 12 teams from the district which include two team from Mekang, DPTE and teams from Sille, Pasighat, Boleng, Pame and others are taking parts.
