No Village should be left devoid of any scheme – DC Tirap

The District Planning Committee(PR) meeting was held in the NBF Hall, Khonsa on Tuesday in connection with new guidelines issued by Government for GPDP  and to reframing the schemes for the year 2015-20 and for final approval of DPC and for onward submission to the government.

Addressing the meeting, Ravi Jha, Dy Commissioner  Tirap district asked members to ensure that no  villages are left devoid of any scheme, he further urged members to include education sector during selection of such schemes and site of work for schemes are to be indicated clearly in the proposals. Participatory and public attendance in GP meetings and public awareness regarding importance of Gram Sabha meeting and selection of the schemes should be ensured adding that Line Departments may be informed to attend GP meetings as and when conducted so that genuine or effective schemes are selected for benefit of the people. He further urged DPDO to initiate steps for formation of Monitoring Agency or  Team to check execution of work.

Speaking on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary (Geology & Mining)  Tirong Aboh, urged the PR leaders to play pro-active role for coordination among MLAs, PR Leaders and Government offices for larger development of the district. He suggested that schemes related to Power and Water should also be incorporated during selection of schemes under GPDP.

Earlier, the Zila Parishad Chairperson, Smt. Sontung  Bangsia while welcoming members present, informed that New GPDP guidelines has been received from the Govt. and all the schemes has been framed as per new guidelines. She further informed that duplicity of schemes has been fully checked and erased. She also informed the house that 1st Instalment has already been released and utilised and after submission of the present proposals, 2nd Instalment for 2015-16 will be released by the Govt.

In his speech Executive Engineer (PHED) Er. Tage Nipa, said that proposal pertaining to water related scheme like water storage tank has been proposed in the my village my development plan adding that such scheme may be proposed in consultation with PHED for better implementation of project.

Er. T. Jerang, Executive Engineer (Power), Deomali said that in order void frequent power interruption due to heavy loads, Led bulb may be used instead of prevailing normal electric bulb as a part of energy conservation.
