Many students from Arunachal Pradesh who are pursuing graduation degree in North East Hills University (NEHU) are facing a nightmare as their mark sheet are yet to be issued from the varsity whereas many of them have cleared the Rajiv Gandhi University Common Entrance Exam but failed to submit their mark sheet on a stipulated time.
When asked of the possible procedure for filling up forms without submitting required documents, David Pertin, Joint Registrar (Academic) RGU informed that no more extension can be provided stating that the varsity also has to go by its academic calendar.
“It is very proud moment for us that many of students from our state have cleared the entrance exam. And we are always consider towards their problems. We have given many extensions for the sake of the students so that they can produce their required documents.
However, each university has their own academic calendar and if we give more extension it will affect the course of classes,” added Pertin.
Many of them are facing this issue and they have met me personally also. But we had already given extension to submit before July 29 midnight, said Pertin.
He added that such problem prevails every year during admission process and termed that it is ‘unfortunate’ for those students who could not submit their original marksheet due to the delay from an administration.
“It is not the fault of those students. But there should be Uniformed Academic Calendar for all the central universities atleast. After that there won’t be such problem for the students,” he added.
He informed that the admission process will go as scheduled from August 5 for the first semester students.
It must be mentioned that many students who have appeared NEHU Board exam are yet to receive their original marksheet. However, many of them have cleared the common RGU entrance exam but failed to submit their original marksheet. The final shortlisted list is likely to be announced soon and the admission process to begin from July 5.
