PHED Dept fail to protect the contamination of drinking water supply source at Senki View

The denizen of Itanagar city alleged that the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) have been totally failed in protecting the drinking water supply source from contamination at Senki View in Senki river.
Hundreds of youths takeing bath, using detergent for washing their cloth, throwing garbage in and around the area. Those chemical, dirt and garbage contaminate the source of the drinking water supply of the river at its upstream side which is harmful for health.
The most important is that the same water which come to the Water treatment plant (WTP) through the pipeline of the same river, but the administration is just mute spectator of the situation, locals alleged.
The denizens allege that on several occasion the Senki View welfare committee have approached the PHED department and capital district administration and even to local police about nuisance created by the youths in the vicinity of the Water Intake plant located at Senki View on the bank of Senki river but all are adamant and overhear and no action have been initiated only except few signboard erected by the administration.
When contacted, PHED Itanagar division Executive Engineer Tadar Mangku inform that “we are fed up with this menace of contamination of water. It is a matter of great concern that hundreds of youth come without and making the source dirty and also they create nuisance and on several occasion my staffs have been either manhandled and assaulted”.
When asked as why PHED did not keep private security instead of waiting for police all the time, Mangku said that though a file was process and need approval of government.
Manku however appeal all stake holder not to take bath and through any garbage at the upstream of the river as the denizens of Itanagar city is using the same water which need to be clean and hygiene.
It is to mention that the capital district administration have been issuing several statutory warning and advisory but who cares.
