Assam: ‘Ambassadors of Peace’ to Governor Assam & Chancellor RGU

Universal Peace Federation, India Chapter, International Association of Parliamentarian Peace to commemorate the United Nations International Day of Peace & International Day of Non – Violence felicitated- Prof. Jagdish Mukhi Governor of Assam and  A.K.Pansari, Chancellor, RGU the ‘Ambassadors of Peace’ awards in a ceremony held at Royal Global University on 26 September 2019.

A. K Pansari stated that peace is a great issue which concerns us all today and we can resolve religious, racial & almost every other problem that plagues our society with this weapon. Also, he solemnly said that in the past India was invaded & colonized by many the British, French, Portuguese & the Dutch, but we as Indians never did so to any other country. That is why – Indians are a testimony of peace.

Guest of Honor of the occasion, Dr. Chung Sik Yong in his heartwarming speech inspired the young students to apply the basic principle of giving first. That the nature of true love & true leadership is to always give first & sacrifice for the sake of others. Dr. Yong emphasized on the Sanskrit phrase – ‘ Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means ‘The world is one Family’. Prof. Jagdish Mukhi addressed with his words of wisdom on how every dispute can be sorted out with peace & through non violence one can actively break through the destructive circle of violence. He implored the students to be active ambassadors of Peace and bring change in society.

This monumental  occasion was graced by a galaxy of esteemed dignitaries with Guest of Honor Dr. Chung Sik Yong, Regional group Chair UPF- Asia Pacific, Chair of the programme Bhubaneshwar Kalita, Chairman International Association of Parliamentarians Peace (IAPP), Sub-regional Director of UPF-South Asia,Prof.(Dr.) S.P.Singh, vice Chancellor, RGU, Mr. Santosh Paudel, Mr. Krishna Adhikari, Secretary general of UPF India, Mr. Jihosuya Jena, President of YSP India & the International Peace Volunteers of Youth leadership Training. RGU students performed a cultural extravaganza of traditional dance & mesmerizing performances were also staged by the Peace Volunteers of Youth Leadership Training International.
