Arunachal: DBT-APSCST Centre will lead trained up the local farmers- Bamang Mangha

The inauguration of makeshift building for Centre for ‘Bio resources and sustainable development & Rural Technology demonstration centre’ will benefit and upgrade the technology, DBT and conservation facility at Komosaki in Kimin circle will boost of the technological requirement in geo tagging of all required activities through  remote sensing.

Bamang Mangha while addressing the gathering at a public function organised on the inauguration of the infrastructure at Upper jumi  said that it would be a great opportunity and support for the people of state that a mega project in the field of Science & technology will come up soon. The infrastructure would be a great help for the science and technology department of state. a fund of around 55 crore have been sanctioned for the same.

The centre will help medicinal and aromatic plants cultivation and its processing. Orchid Conservation Avenue and their marketing. value addition to the local beverages, like kiwi wine. processing of banana fibre and fruits. fruit processing units which leads to develop some local industries. cultivation of local mushroom and their marketing.

Students from school, colleges, universities and the research scholar from different parts of the country as well as from the state like RGU, NERIST, NIT-AP etc. can take the training programmes with sophisticated equipments of the centre. Information of medicinal and aromatic plants will be accessed globally with the help of bioinformatics facilities.

The work however began today while a multi-storeyed and a good complex would come up soon  and the required have been posted and  more than 40-50 scholars and scientist will he appointed soon and priority will be given to locals first.

Mangha said that I have been trying my best effort in development of state council of science and technology in state and  have been able to bring this project ‘ Bioresource Development centre’ at Kimin by Department of Biotechnology amounting to Rupees Fifty Five Crore for development of infrastructure and man power, the project was announced by the Union Minister for Science & technology Dr. Harsha Vardhan on his visit to Kimin last year on same day.

The Rural Technology Development Centre (RTC) and DBT-APSCS&T Bioresources centre will lead to trained up the local farmers to the modern techniques of agriculture. Also the local people can develop scientifically some traditional medicinal garden which may lead to self dependent and can solve the economic problem.

The people of the state also can cultivate and market the local mushroom after taking the training in the RTC. The people can take the training programme on Tissue culture for ornamental orchid propagation in RTC and DBT- APSCS&T centre. The local people can also develop some medium scale fruit processing units based on local fruits which will be good sources of earning, self employment. Mangha added
