Arunachal: Conduct Panchayat Election by 2018- HC directs state govt

In a landmark judgement, WP(C)No.231(AP)/2018 Sangha Tagik, Gen. Secy, All Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Parishad (AAPPP) -VS- State of Arunachal Pradesh, Guwahati High Court Itanagar Permanent  has  directed the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh to conduct Panchayat Election by 30th December 2018.

Hence,  state government is requested to follow as directed by High court.

The Judgment pronounced by the Justice Ajit Borthakur on Thursday at Gauhati High court, Guwahati. In his judgement Justice Ajit directed the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh  to complete all election formalities and process by 30th December 2018.

This was informed by TT Tara, the advocate of Sangha Tagik.  Sangha Tagik had filed a writ petition after postponement of panchayat election by state government.

Meanwhile experts are saying that the state government may move to apex court on the issue.
