Arunachal: Chowna Mein inaugurates Girls’ Academic Block at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Lumdung
The Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Lumdung, a co-educational institution, stands as a beacon of educational excellence with separate blocks for girls and boys equipped with modern amenities.
LUMDUNG- Arunachal Pradesh Dy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, inaugurated the newly built Sarada Bhawan (Girl’s Academic Block) at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Lumdung today.
Meanwhile, General Secretary Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, West Bengal, Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj laid the foundation stone for the Brahmananda Bhavan (Boy’s Hostel) with a capacity of 480 students and also unveiled a divine statue of Goddess Saraswati in the campus.

Expressing gratitude to Secretary RKM Lumdung Swami Sarvagananda for the invitation, DCM Mein acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Swamijis and Matajis of Ramakrishna Mission, who have been imparting quality education in Arunachal Pradesh since NEFA days renouncing the worldly pleasures.
He commended their paramount dedication to fostering educational opportunities, especially at a time when modern amenities, road connectivity and proper infrastructure were scarce. Their contributions have played a pivotal role in advancing the educational and healthcare landscape in Arunachal Pradesh .
The DCM extended heartfelt appreciation to the people of Lumdung for their generous donation of a vast and picturesque piece of land free of cost for the establishment of the school. He also remembered former Lt Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, K.A.A. Raja for his visionary initiatives that paved the way for the Ramakrishna Mission School at Deomali and Ramakrishna Mission Girls School at Khonsa.

Impressed with the infrastructural development in the first phase, DCM Mein affirmed the government’s commitment to sanctioning necessary funds in the second phase, aiming to transform the school into a model institution of the State. He expressed interest in establishing a Higher Education Institution or College of Ramakrishna Mission in the State and assured continued government support.
DCM Mein highlighted the substantial progress of Arunachal Pradesh, positioning it as one of the most rapidly developing states in India.
Looking beyond education, Mein articulated plans for a guest house and other accommodation facilities in the area and assured to provide fund for the construction of a guest house at Lumdung.

Citing that Arunachal Pradesh has huge potential in tourism, especially in adventure and education, he emphasised on promoting education and tourism, hand in hand.
He underscored the importance of education in building an inclusive, just and fair society, nurturing character and inspiring youth to contribute to nation-building while preserving the cultural roots of Arunachal Pradesh. He advised the young generations to adopt modernisation without losing their cultural roots.
