Arunachal ACB Arrests Retired DFO in Alleged ₹31.93 Crore Fund Misappropriation Case
Chukhu Loma was arrested in ACB Case No. 09/2025 over alleged irregular payments to private individuals during his tenure as DFO of Banderdewa Forest Division.
ITANAGAR- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Arunachal Pradesh has arrested retired Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Chukhu Loma in connection with an alleged ₹31.93 crore government fund misappropriation case linked to the Banderdewa Forest Division.
Loma, a former DFO of the Banderdewa Forest Division, was arrested on September 13, 2026, in connection with ACB Case No. 09/2025, according to an ACB press release.
The case concerns alleged irregularities in the disbursement of government payments to private individuals during Loma’s tenure as DFO. Investigators allege that Loma, along with other public servants, was involved in transactions involving forgery, criminal misappropriation of government funds and other financial irregularities.

The alleged amount involved in the case is ₹31.93 crore, making the investigation significant in terms of the value of public funds allegedly involved.
The ACB is also examining the alleged role of other public servants connected with the transactions. The bureau has not yet publicly released a detailed year-wise breakup of the alleged ₹31.93 crore misappropriation, the identities of the private payees or a complete list of alleged co-accused.
These details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses and the accused is produced before a court.
Following his arrest, Loma reportedly complained of chest pain and physical discomfort and was presented for medical advice, according to the ACB.

The bureau said it would continue to take strict action against corruption and financial irregularities involving public funds.
The case specifically relates to alleged financial irregularities during Loma’s tenure as DFO of the Banderdewa Forest Division. His earlier association with forest administration and conservation-related activities is separate from the allegations being investigated in the present case.
The arrest forms part of recent ACB actions in Arunachal Pradesh concerning alleged misuse of public money. However, the allegations against Loma and others remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings. The arrest and registration of a case do not establish guilt, and no court has so far determined that Loma is guilty of the alleged offences.
