Underlining Arunachal’s wealth of stories stemming out of diverse cultural heritage, Mein said that the diverse literary forms like poetry, drama, folklore and rhapsodies of the tribal societies can be compiled into accessible books.
Through such initiative, we can also translate those literature written in local scripts into English literature, ensuring a wider audience. Mein suggested the Arunachal Pradesh Literacy Society to initiate such works.
Mein also said that the books so published can be purchased by the Govt and distributed in various libraries across the State for youths and younger generations to read.
‘The Long Journey’ is not just a collection of words; it’s a compilation of articles written by the author in various perspectives during his long service life in IPR Department and published in various newspapers in the State.
Denhang Bosai’s insightful articles delve into critical youth-centric issues, addressing challenges that resonate with the young minds of Arunachal Pradesh.
Issues that have the potential to stifle the state’s progress and the importance of recognizing responsibilities along with rights are thoughtfully explored within the pages of this memoir.
For instance, the book has touched upon several topics like Bandh culture being a scourge and the need for nipping it in the bud, Pervasive negativity and pessimism choking Arunachal’s growth, Knowing your responsibilities and not only your rights, Drug addiction, Alcoholism, 50 glorious years of Arunachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh’s long journey from secluded entity and so on.
The event was also attended by prominent literary figures, including President of the Arunachal Pradesh Literacy Society, Padmashree Y.D. Thongchi, Director Research, Kango Tayeng, General Secretary APLS, Mukul Pathak, President, APLS, Lower Subansiri unit, Dr. Hage Tabyo, along with the members of APLS and others.
