Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu’s visit to North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) on June 16 next.
In view of his capital police team checking the suspicious movement of anti-social elements. The police team led by SDPO Itanagar Kamdam Sikom conducted intensive checking at various hotels of Itanagar and alerted the hotel managers to verify each and every customers properly and maintain proper record of every customers who stays at the hotels and submit the same at Police Station Itanagar on everyday basis.
Beside the police team checking, guest house, rented house, border checking and vehicle checking will be done. No person is allowed to carry a weapons in their vehicles, if found the same will be seized.
Checking drives also intensified in all venerable places of capital complex to avoid further law and order problem. The night patrolling have been increased.
Capital police have appeal the denizens to cooperate in the police apart of normal routine checking and nakas as well.
Meanwhile the Vice President would interact with the faculty members and research scholars before advising as to how the institute could move to meet the technical manpower requirements of the NE region besides providing solution to specific regional problems through research.
