Seppa: MLAs discussed Road projects under PMGSY

In a bid to chalk out viable solutions to expedite the construction of various road projects without compromising on their quality being implemented by Rural Works Department of Bameng and Chayangtajo Divisions under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Bameng MLA Goruk Pordung and Chayangtajo MLA Hayeng Mangfi duo have convened a review-cum-interaction meeting with officials of concerned department and contractors in presence of East Kameng DC Gaurav Singh Rajawat today here at Kameng Hall, Seppa.

There was an end-to-end open discussion on matters relating to shortcomings in execution of works.

While assuring for every possible support, MLA Hayeng Mangfi exhorted the contractors and department concerned to work with utmost zeal for the general welfare of all without any prejudices.

In order to complete all works within the targeted timeframe, MLA Mangfi urged them to go the extra mile to expedite the works without compromising on their quality.

He has also assured to pursue and corporate with the department for allocation of additional fund, if need arises for speedy and proper completion of any works.

Cautioning against stern action, MLA Goruk Pordung has uprightly warned for initiating disciplinary action against officers indulged in any wrongdoings. He has also warned to withhold the release of payment if any works are found to be compromised.

Advocating for speedy and quality work, MLA Goruk Pordung has also assured to extend every possible help for early completion of all PMGSY roads.

East Kameng DC Gaurav Singh Rajawat advised the department to strictly follow the guidelines as prescribed in the CPWD manual and ensure timely rectification of any observations made by quality monitoring team. He also directed the department and all contractors to depute at least 2 site engineers for proper construction of work.

Briefing the house about the status of all projects under PMGSY, EE (RWD) M Ronya has assured to complete all projects within the targeted deadline by following the CPWD manual. Cautioning to take stern action against non complying firm, he presented timeframe for all works and urged all contractors to cooperate and work according to DPR.

A host of contractors present has also spoke and highlighted the house about various problems being faced by them during the execution of work, which included, among others, public hindrances, non-clearance of project due to cases pending in SIC and erratic climatic condition.

Other officials of the RWD were also present in the meeting.
