Itanagar: AAPDWS celebrates World disable day

World disable day celebrated here with great enthusiasm with day long programme at DK Convention centre by the executive members and members of All Arunachal Pradesh Divyang welfare society(AAPDWS).
Addressing the gathering, Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang said that government is for the people and the Pema Khandu led government in state is doing its best effort for all round development of state.
Divyangjan are equally like other members of society and they are equally responsible for the state and country development. He inform that till date there are around 2000 divyangjan have been enrolled in state, around 250 forms are still pending and state government will make a unique identity (UID) which would help the members in getting the facilities and schemes by the government.
There are several schemes and welfare measures launched by central as well as state government which would be made to the concern person and state government is ready to support all.
He further appeal all to support and cooperated the state government in delivering the schemes and welfare measures to the needy person in all far flung and remote areas of state.
He also requested the members of the organisation to unitedly celebrate the day from next year so that all persons related with the divyangjan join hands together for a grand success.
He assured to look into the grievances submitted in the memorandum for a resolution. Libang added.
Guest of honour, Itanagar Market Welfare Association (IMWA) President Yumlam Achung said that it is a privilege that several members of divyangjan are now working in several central and state government and also in other fields and they are no longer treated as physically handicapped. They are equally like us and they can now also play a vital role and shoulder equally responsible for state and nation development.
He also motivated the gathering and appeal them to join hands in development of state. At the same time the state and central government should support and look for the welfare of the members for better living and opportunities and right and privilege. Achung added.
Arunachal Pradesh Divyang Welfare Society (AAPDWS) founder Chairman Damin Kayu address the gathering and presented brief activities of the organization and put forward the grievances by way of five point memorandum placed to chief guest which include creation of composite regional centre and sanction of 20 crore for construction of AAPDWS owned land at Nirjuli, vocational and industrial skill development training centre at Nirjuli, office building, regrouping of all differently able person under one umbrella and posting of separate state commissioner for disabilities (divyangjan) for Arunachal Pradesh.
