Two diaries having personal details i.e (address, phone number) of prominent political figures, 5 Debit/ Credit cards of various banks, and 3 Mobile phone were seized from him”, as mentioned in the release.
Earlier case FIR no 8/2019 U/S 384, 385, 506, 511 IPC R/W section 10 UAP Act 1967 was registered in Crime Branch police station of SIT.
After putting sustained effort and raids in Delhi, Dibrugarh, and Guwahati over a period of one month Ranjan was finally tracked and arrested. He was produced in Court and remanded for 7 days in Police Custody. The PRO said.
During interrogation it was revealed that he was earlier arrested by Delhi Police for threatening & extortion charges and sent to Tihar jail. His link to ULFA dates back to 1985. He has contributed to the organization by Recruiting men and held important post. The release added.
