Former PM of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee passes away, Governor, CM condoles Vajpayee’s death

Atal Bihari Vajpayee passes away: Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has passed away aged 93 at AIIMS in Delhi.

In a medical bulletin, the hospital said the Bharat Ratna breathed his last at 5.05pm on Thursday. “Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated over the last 36 hours and he was put on life support systems. Despite the best of efforts, we lost him today,” AIIMS said in a press release.

The Bharatiya Janata Party stalwart was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on June 11 with a kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection, low urine output and chest congestion.

Last night, Vajpayee’s condition had worsened and he was put on life-support system. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah, party veteran LK Advani, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, several Union Ministers and CMs paid a visit to Vajpayee this morning.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) expressed shock and grief on the demise of former Prime Minister of India  Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Governor said that in death of Respected Atal ji, India has lost the tallest leader, politician, statesman, patriot, literary figure and the loftiest human face of Independent India.

Paying homage to the great leader, the Governor said that Atal ji was an apostle of unity, harmony and secularism. One of the best orators of all time, Atal ji was a great visionary and the most respected leader of India.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed his deepest condolence on the sad demise of former Prime Minister of India, Atal Behari Vajpayee.   In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said, “I am extremely saddened by the sad demise of a fatherly figure of our country – former Prime Minister of India,  Atal Behari Vajpayee Ji. In his passing away we all are at immense loss.  Atal Ji was an iconic and charismatic figure who was loved by all. He was a true statesman who often rose above political differences for the cause of humanity, justice and peace. He was a true inspiration!”

“Remembering his gentle soul who will remain forever in our heart. May he rest in peace!” he added. 

Prime minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over Vajpayee’s death and called him an inspiration for many. 

President Ramnath Kovind has expressed grief over Vajpayee’s death.
