In the year 2002, the state government had issued a directive to the gaon buras of Shyo village to issue ST certificates on the basis of the genealogical tree prepared on the basis of an agreement made in the year 1936. Accordingly, 90 families were issued ST certificates.
But since the directives issued by the state government in the year 2002 there have been many inclusions and the number of refugees now stands more than 1000 individuals.
Further speaking on the matter, Tsering alleged that the family of the three APSC aspirants from Tawang namely Dr Sonam Tsomu, Dr Sonam Dolma, and Dr Pema Dolma, who were selected for the post of Medical Officer (Allopathy) in the recently concluded APPSC examination under the ST quota, don’t have any mention in the list of 90 families and thus them being ST is questionable.
Demanding immediate cancellation of their candidature after proper verification, Tsering informed that they have written to the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission in this regard and that the commission has asked the Tawang deputy commissioner to verify the claims.
