N.F.Railway’s earnings shows marked improvement

During the period from January to July this year, N.F.Railway’s earnings from various segments have shown remarkable improvement. It is to be mentioned here that N.F.Railway has also recorded 12.12% growth in number of passenger which is highest among all Zones in Indian Railway.
During the period from January to July, 2017 penalty earned during drives against ticketless travel has been Rs. 27.01 crs against a target of Rs. 25.02 crs. This is an increase of 47.76% over the corresponding period of last year. Originating passenger earnings has also increased to Rs. 1,009.40 crs against a target of Rs. 940.68 crs an increase of 7.730% over the corresponding period of last year. Originating goods earnings has also increased to Rs. 783.18 crs against a target of 765.63 crs an increase of 16.25% over the corresponding period of last year.
Two new PRS (Passenger Reservation System) centres and three new UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) centres have been opened during this period in N.F.Railway. With these, total nos of UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) centres in N.F.Railway have become 379.
