Landslide in China: 15 killed, over 40 still missing

The death toll following a landslide in south-west China has risen to 15, state-run news agency Xinhua reported on Thursday.
Another over 40 are still missing as authorities continue the search with the assistance of sniffer dogs.
Video of the landslide aired by state broadcaster CGTN showed the side of a collapsed hill covered in thick mud and excavators digging through the debris.
Eleven locals have already been taken to hospital with varying injuries after a mudslide buried 21 houses in a village next to the city of Liupanshui. Rescue operations have been in action ever since.
About 2.2 million people in Guizhou have been affected by floods and heavy winds in the first half of the year, and natural disasters have shaved off 3.1 billion yuan ($450 million) off the local economy this year, China’s official Xinhua news agency reported.
