Like other building, structure or utility service like shifting of pipelines of PHED, Electricity and telephone Polls , these two foot over bridge also need to be shifted as it lies in Right of Way (RoW) of the road which is under construction by T K Engineering consortium private limited.
All such structures have been fully paid by incentive or dismantling charge by the capital district administration but the dismantling charge for shifting of the said foot over have yet to be paid by the capital district administration to the Urban Development department, said one of the official of UD department.
Since the district administration have issued a notice for removal of said two foot over bridge and relocation vide order No-DC/ICC/NH-01/2018 dated August 31 2018 latest by September 5 which is yet to be executed by the department.
When contacted Urban Development Deputy Director and Itanagar Division In-charge Gyamar Tachung said that that he have received the notice of the district administration but to dismantle it need crane which will be brought from Kolkata or Guwahati . Not only that, It require an estimated cost of Rs 24 lakhs.
Tachung said that as per order the department of Urban development and Housing under Itanagar division started the dismantling to pave way for four lane road construction but the district administration and Highway department failed to provide the compensation of 24 lakhs and space for its relocation the work of dismantling have been halted till further order.
Few people who were crossing the foot over bridge said that when the four lane road will be complete such foot over bridge would be only safe passage and corridor for the pedestrian to cross the road, Keeping this in mind the district administration need to construct more such foot over bridge in the capital city.
