According to the SP, a complaint was received from an accused of the accident that the lady officer demanded cash for granting him a bail.
“She made him believed that it was a non-bail able offence, whereas it was a bail able offense,” added Amo.
According to the accused, he was going to hospital with his wife on 24 April last but on the way he noticed some defects on the brake of the vehicle. Then he went to a garage near Arunodaya Higher Secondary School, H Sector for vehicle repairing.
While entering to the garage, the vehicle hit two mechanics of the garage, since there was some problem with the vehicle’s brake. Subsequently, the owner of the garage lodged a complaint in Itanagar Police Station, and later she was the IO of the said case. informed the SP.
He further informed that the department will not tolerate any forms of corruption quoting the initiative of Pema Khandu Government policy of zero tolerance towards corruption.
“We should be free of such practices and then only we can take action and tell others not to indulge in such practices,” he added.
He added that cleanliness and honesty must begin from home before correcting others.
