Capital Police Arrested 3 Extortionists With Arms For Demanding extortion of Rs 1 Crore from a resident of Itanagar.
Explaining about the details of the case capital SP, Tumme Amo informed that ” Nyai Rigia ( 53 ) of A-Sector have lodged an FIR on 10/11/2019 regarding one unknown miscreant had delivered a ransom letter with a mobile handset at his residence and the unknown miscreant had clearly disclosed that he had attempted to kill him at Guwahati which failed and he further stated that he had been offered sum of Rs. 3 crore by someone to kill the complainant and that he now wants Rs 1 crore from the complainant for not killing him.
Accordingly, a case was registered in Naharlagun PS and endorsed to SI G. Tape for further investigation, informed SP.
The SP Capital immediately constituted a special team of officers from Itanagar & Naharlagun PS led by Addl SP Harsh Indora, Asst SP Sumit Kr Jha, and including Insp K Yangfo, OC Naharlagun PS, SI B Pertin of Naharlagun PS, SI AK Singh of Itanagar PS, Ct T Gadi, Ct J Dorjee, Ct M Riyang, Ct M Tashi, Ct D Bagra, Ct P Dolo & Ct S Padu to arrest the unknown miscreants.
After continuous efforts with assistance of CMCU and raids in various locations in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh raids including Doimukh, Nirjuli, Naharlagun, Itanagar for about 6 days, the Capital Police team arrested three persons from Doimukh & Naharlagun last night, who are involved in the said case.
The arrested persons are identified as Dake Tai [Yangda], 28 years, residing at Pappu Nallah area of Naharlagun . He was arrested with Arms & 5 live rounds.
The second one is identified as Chandan Gurung of 32 Yrs residing at G -Sector Naharlgun. and the third one is Dare Bai 26 Yrs residing at BPL Colony Itanagar.
Following items were seized from them viz one .22 pistol with magazine and five rounds, four mobile handsets with four sim cards one Santro car bearing regd no.AR-01D-0862, one voter ID of Dake Tai (Yangda) & one PAN card of Dake Tai (Yangda).
Among these three arrestee Dake Tai and Dare Bai were earlier arrested by Ziro police led by the present SP Capital when he was SP Ziro on 24/03/2015 & 16/09/2014 respectively.
Dake Tai was arrested with 2 pistols 51 live rounds & 3 three others including Anthony Doke, former self styled commander of NLCT;
While Dare Bai was arrested for stabbing and looting one Joram Wine Shop of Ziro on 19 June 2014;
A few more persons who had issued SIM cards to the arrestees for making extortion calls will also be arrested soon, said SP Amo .
