Arunachal: DG SAI visits state in relation with opening of new sports academy
On the direction of sports ministry , the Director General ( DG ) of Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sandeep Pradhan visited the state in relation with the opening of sports academy in the state .

Director General ( DG ) of Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sandeep Pradhan appeal all to dedicate themselves for the cause of development of games and sports and youth welfare activities in state and region.
Pradhan who was on two day visit of state, inspected the SAI sub centre at Naharlagun, Sange Laden Sports Academy (SLSA) Chimpu and interacted with students and faculty and noted the problems, and requirements at both the places.
Today the team led by Pradhan visited Rakap village near Jote in Sangdupota circle to see the proposed site for sports sub centre.
Talking to Arunachal24 Pradhan informed that “ I have visited the state on the direction of Union Minister of state for Sports and Youths Affairs Kiren Rijiju” to assess the present status of games and sports, challenges and requirement. I visited the SAI sub centre, SLSA, inspected the under construction infrastructure at Chimp, interacted with students, faculty and officials also, he said.

The proposal of opening of three new centre of excellence and new sports academy was also discussed with the Minister Sport & YA Mama Natung and necessary suggestion and guidance have been given to the officers. He inform.
When asked about the shortage of Physical education teachers in schools of state. Pradhan said that he have directed the officers to work out scope of increasing the PET in school by giving training to selective teachers of schools who can perform as PET in school where PET are not available. He said that if all schools have a guide for the students then the sports will naturally grow and talented students will be picked up for further training and opportunities will be given.
Sports Minister Mama Natung who also visited SLSA said that the state government is keen interest to develop games and sport and will leave no stone upturn. He requested the DG to immediately pursue the proposal submitted by GoAP.
A ten point memorandum was also submitted to DG (SAI) by Director Sports Tadar Appa on the occasion.
Regional Director (SAI) Dr. Subash Basumatary, Director Youth Affairs D K Dinglow, Director SAA G Karbak among others were also present during the inspection at SAI and SLSA.
