Arunachal: Construction of Potin-Pangin (TAH) is a concern of state govt-Pema Khandu

Chief Minister on Wednesday assured of proper monitoring and completion of Potin-Pangin Trans Arunachal Highway ( TAH ) at the earliest.
While briefing the media person at the sideline of the celebration of Vanmahotsava celebration at Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly secretariat campus today afternoon Khandu said that the infamous TAH especially Potin-Pangin highway which has 407 kilometer stretch is in messed situation since 2012 and people living in several district have been suffering due to its pathetic condition.
Earlier in response of a question in house, CM Khandu informed that the status of 407-km Potin-Pangin road, lifeline for seven districts, is a matter of concern. The road was given to the company but with lapses committed by both the GoAP and MoRTH as 80% land should be acquired before floating tender.
He informed that the first tenders were floated for 9 packages and the PWD had submitted the DPRs but the MoRTH on 21. 02.18 decided to go for three packages as Minister Nitin Gadkari was also concerned. The tender for third time did not get a single bidder.
CM also informed that the Director General of MORTH has given assurance for completion of formalities and may invite tendering process in 9 packages within 15 days.
Pointing out that higher compensations demand was posing problem, he said that Meghalaya people do not seek compensation toeing Govt policy “No land, no road”. East West Industrial Corridor DPR is being prepared and MoRTH has floated tender to survey Frontier Highway.
He further informed that he will personally monitor the process closely and set up a monitoring to check the progress of the work.
