The State National People’s Party (NPP), Arunachal Pradesh strongly condemned the atrocity of Indian Army to the villagers of Longkhjon village under Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh recently. The Indian army misusing the Arm force Special Power Act to harass the innocent public of the region time and again which is total violation of human rights, party stated.
A press statement issued by the Party spokes person, Nima Sangey Saling said that ‘ It is understood that the 23 people, including a priest of Longkhjon village of Longding district were beaten up by the army personnel on 18 November 2018 for the reason, which they were completely ignorant about’.
The army personnel raided the village and tortured the innocent villagers without prior permission from the district administration. Anything done by the villagers at gun point to save their lives cannot be treated as underground or underground sympathiser and therefore army personnel beating up the innocent villagers for carrying the dead body of the militant is totally inhuman act.
The state NPP Arunachal Pradesh urge the state govt. to initiate the necessary action against the army personnel involved in the Longkhjon incident, party stated.
Through this press statement, ‘The National People’s Party (NPP) strongly demand the govt. of India for revocation of Arm Force Special Power Act (AFSPA) from the entire state of Arunachal Pradesh and ensure the safety of the people from the unnecessary harassment by the Indian Army misusing the AFSPA in the name of the underground’.
