LS Passes Citizenship Bill, is a communal and unconstitutional- says Sammujjal
The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the Citizenship Bill, However NESO advisor Sammujjal Bhattacharya alleged that, this bill is communal and unconstitutional.

The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed a contentious bill seeking to provide Indian citizenship to non-Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan, amid protests in north eastern states and opposition parties terming the proposed law “divisive” and “flawed”.
“By this bill, they are trying to create a new vote bank, Citizenship cannot be decided on religious basis, this is a communal and unconstitutional bill” alleged Sammujjal Bhattacharya, Advisor of Northeast Student Organisations ( NESO).
During an interview Sammujjal alleged that, “The Central Govt undermining the sentiments of the people of Northeast, diluting the Assam Accord and forcefully imposing the Citizenship( Amendment) Bill 2016 on people of Northeast and Assam in particular”
JHPC report is a half report, because the they have not visited the whole of northeast, and without visiting and discussion with all the northeastern states, how can they submit a full report, Sammujjal alleged .
“Voice of northeast is not honoured by Centre govt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, Northeast cannot be the dumping ground of Bangladeshis” he added.
