Cycle rally to aware on World Diabetes Day

To create awareness about the Diabetes on the occasion of “world diabetes day” a cycle rally organised from Naharlagun to Nirjuli and back to Naharlagun.
Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso flagged off the cycle rally at the premises of Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Science (TRIHMS) today morning. The rally was organised by IMA AP, and district NCD-clinic TRIHMS.
Kaso said that we can earn and learn everything but if we lost health, we may lose everything, so it is high time that we have to save our life and make a healthy life without any harmful disease.
He said exercise is the most important tools to keep out health fit and fine. Any types of exercise keep our body healthy and sound mind. He appeal the members from medical fraternity to create mass awareness among general people so that they can understand the advantage of importance of exercise and stay fit and fine.
TRIHMS Director Dr. Moji Jini said we are here to give better treatment to the needy people but it is the responsibility of every individual remain fit and fine and it is only possible if they continue to do exercise.
There are different types of exercise and best one is cycling and walking. Today cycling is merely a symbolic one and it would motivate many. He urge upon all to maintain diet and food habit.
Indian Medical Association (IMA) state unit President Dr Lopsang Tsetin. Said that it is an opportunity that our state having lots of greenery but even if there are lots of opportunity and challenges we need to stay fit and fine and stay away from several diseases by carrying our daily exercise.
Medical specialist and Nodal officer (NPHCC) TRIHMS Dr. Ratan Ram in his address said that ” The day is celebrated every year and this year we prefer cycling as it require no fuel and extra charge as well as no extra burden on the people and can easily get away from several disease if they continue to do cycling daily basis”.

He said there are around 65 million people suffering from diabetes and it is increasing in alarming stage, so to stay from diabetes and other disease exercise is must and appeal one all to continue with daily exercise and cycling to remain fit and fine with healthy body and sound mind to live a long life.
It is to state that around 50 doctors from TRIHMS and members of IMA take part in cycling from Naharlaugn to Nirjuli and back. In the event the eye specialist at both TRIHMS and RK Mission carried out free eye screening test and distributed medicines to the needy patient.
