BSNL has plans of huge expansion in Arunachal Pradesh

While assuring all out support to the state, the Union Minister of State for Telecommunication Manoj Sinha informed the Chief Minister  Pema Khandu  that ” BSNL has plans of huge expansion in the Arunachal Pradesh.  He further revealed that under the first phase of Bharatnet – a total of 863 gram panchayats of the state would be covered by March 2017″.

BSNL“Ministry is committed to carry out all the communication related works in the state on time bound manner” assured Sinha during a detailed discussion with Mr Khandu on Friday.

Communication being the life line of development agenda of state Government, Chief Minister today had a detailed discussion with Union Tele-Communication Minister on the way forward in removing the bottlenecks in telecommunication sector. CM also called for strengthening the BSNL and requested for expanding its reach to every nook and corner of the state.

“To ensure that State of Arunachal Pradesh leapfrog from current status towards a fully developed state, we would like to utilize maximum use of IT for delivery of services across urban, semi urban and rural Arunachal Pradesh” CM asserted.

He requested the Minister to consider for allowing flexibility to Arunachal Pradesh to quickly implement BharatNet (Phase 3) as per State Led Model with financial Assistance from Central Govt. besides, implementing Govt of Andhra Pradesh model (With IP Based Aerial Model) customized as per feasibility within the topology of state. He also sought assistance from the ministry in exploring utilization of Alternate Technologies like Wireless Radio and WIFI to connect low house hold GP’s or remote locations wherein Fiber/Electricity Distribution Network is not feasible.

CM was accompanied by Chief Secretary Shakuntala D Gamlin during the call on.
