The mock drill exercise shows engagement of all the members of the Incident Response system – security forces, police, Health department, HoDs of various line departments.
Mock Drill was successfully conducted in Longding district in five different locations viz :- GHSS Longding, District hospital, , Zedua colony, Main Market area, DC office.
ZIRO- The Lower Subansiri District Administration led by District Disaster Management Department also took part at the state level mock exercise on earthquake scenario here today.
The District Secretariat, Govt. Higher Secondary School Hija, Pine Ridge Complex and Gyati Takka General Hospital were identified as incident sites where the earthquake drills including the ‘Drop-Cover-Hold’ were conducted under the Incident Commander and Additional Deputy Commissioner Millo Kojin.
YUPIA- Along with the rest of the state a Mega Mock exercise on earthquake scenario was conducted at various locations of Papum Pare today.
A hypothetical earthquake scenario was created during the mock exercise to check the preparedness of the District and most importantly activating the Incident Response Team to tackle any unforeseen disaster.
The IRT was led by Incident Commander Smti Tame Yajum,SDO who actively supervised the overall operation of the IRT including search and rescue operations, logistics, man and machineries deployment etc.
Once the siren ,signaling the earthquake was blown at 9.03am Rescue vehicles were mobilised at the staging site and which were later sent to various locations for rescue operations.

The laisoning officer Nima Tashi, DDMO informed that the Mock Exercise was conducted at Pare Dam, IOCL depot Emchi,Yupia village, DC Office and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose 𝙰𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚜𝚒𝚢𝚊 Vidyalaya, Yupia.
Also supervising the drill Responsible Officer DC Cheechung Chukhu said that such exercise generates awareness about the various aspects of disaster as well as trains people on how to conduct themselves during disasters.
Altogether, Personnels from Police Department, Fire & Emergency services, NDRF, SDRF ,CRPF ,AAPDA MITRAS ,NCC and volunteers participated in the Mock exercise.
Later, after completion of the mock exercise, a debriefing session was held by the State Disaster Management Authority.
