Arunachal: BRO stops Road construction after attacks it’s officials by locals
Road construction work on Taliha Nacho road stopped as local attack on BRO personnel in Nacho Town.

Two Border Road Organisation (BRO) personnel attacked by suspected locals in Nacho township of Upper Subansiri district on April 18 on allege land compensation issue. One received grievous injuries. This has caused panic and fear amongst BRO personnel.
BRO officials Dhananjay Yadav and Raj Narayan Rai on 18 Apr at around 11 AM was attacked by few locals on land compensation issue with dau ( sword ).
Raj Narayan Rai jumped into a Nalah to save himself, but Dhananjay was not so lucky and got seriously injury trying to save attack on his neck. His hands suffered deep cuts and bones were also damaged. Dhananjay was rushed to Daporijo where doctors carried out surgery and stitching till late evening. He has been evacuated to Dibrugarh for further treatment.
An FIR has been lodged with Nacho Police Station but Police was yet to take action till 19 Apr 19.
BRO is doing double laning of road from Daporijo to Nacho but work is progressing very slowly as Dist Administration is unable to resolve land disputes and compensation issues. Locals are not permitting work even on stretches where compensation had been paid.
BRO has suspended construction work on Taliha Nacho road till security situation improves and Police takes appropriate action in the matter. Suspension of work is likely to affect Casual Paid Labours hired by BRO from amongst locals.
Due to the suspension of the work, threat of damage to the property, vehicle & equipment of BRO, deployed on the road by locals- looms large. BRO has accordingly requested Police authorities for preventive action in the matter.
Confirming the incident of attack on BRO personnel, Upper Subansiri district Keni Bagra said that a special team of police have already been sent to nab the culprit involved. Since the communication system in Nacho area in not good and update is not available as of now,
However he said the Nacho police after registering the case is investigating the matter. Bagra added.
