Governor Reviews Education Reforms in Arunachal
Governor K.T. Parnaik reviewed the state of education in Arunachal Pradesh, stressing quality learning, skilled teachers, and digital classrooms to meet future challenges.

ITANAGAR- The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, K.T. Parnaik, on February 6 reviewed the progress and challenges of the state’s education sector, underlining the need to ensure universal access to quality learning and skill development for children and young people.
The review meeting was held at Lok Bhavan, Itanagar and was attended by P.D. Sona, Minister for Education, and Amjad Tak, Commissioner (Education). The discussions focused on strengthening the education system to align with the aspirations of Arunachal Pradesh’s youth and the evolving socio-economic needs of the state.
Reiterating the vision outlined in his recent address to the Legislative Assembly, the Governor described the youth of Arunachal Pradesh as the state’s greatest asset. He said the education department must ensure that every child and young person has access to quality education, relevant skills, and supportive institutions that build confidence and prepare them for a rapidly changing world.

Referring to Mission Shikshit Arunachal 2029, which is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, the Governor stressed the importance of strong monitoring mechanisms at the ground level to drive systemic reforms in school education. He highlighted foundational literacy and numeracy as priority areas requiring sustained attention.
The Governor also underscored the role of well-trained and motivated teachers, the need for residential schooling facilities in remote and difficult areas, and the expansion of digital-enabled classrooms to address the geographical challenges faced by the state.

On higher education, Parnaik emphasised the need to expand institutional capacity within the state, strengthen scholarship support, and introduce more skill-based and professional courses. He said such measures would help reduce outward migration of students and unlock the full potential of Arunachal Pradesh’s youth.
The Governor said that comprehensive education reforms could transform the sector into a key driver of inclusive growth, cultural confidence, and the broader vision of a ‘Viksit Arunachal Pradesh’.
