Arunachal: Tawang Police busted Gang of Burglars, Recovered large number of Stolen Goods
A gang of Three notorious burglars nabbed by Tawang Police and large number of stolen goods including Laptop, LCD TV, Gs Cylinder, Mobile Phones, CC TV Cameras, and many more .

Tawang police has busted a gang of burglars and recovered a number of stolen goods from cases reported from across the Tawang District, informed Sagar Singh Kalsi, SP, Tawang .
The arrested persons are Dawa Rai s/o Prem Rai r/o Lechheme Rong, near Buddung Teng (Kargil Colony), Tawang (aged 23 Years) and Nima Rai s/o Rai s/o Prem Rai r/o Lechheme Rong, near Buddung Teng (Kargil Colony), Tawang (aged 22 Years).Police recovered following items from Their Possession.
- Stolen goods (Laptop, LCD TV, Gas Cylinders, Mobiles, Video Cameras, IPAD, a CCTV Camera, Furniture, Clothes And Blankets, Vacuum Cleaner, local lamps, local clothes, electric iron and other electric items, Fuel, aadhaar cards, gas cards, other documents and cash Rs. 31360 and many other items)
- House braking implements (Electric Cutter, Electric Drilling Machine, Ranches, pliers, hexa blades, rods etc)
- Weapons ( Local Swords, Daos, Khukhris etc).
According SP Tawang, “In the month of September, complaints were received from the residents of Buddung Teng (Kargil Colony) regarding continuous cases of burglary in the colony. Accordingly, cases were registered under the appropriate provisions of law and investigation was taken up.
Keeping in view the incidents, teams led by DySP Dr. Thupten Jambey consisting of ASI Koncho Tsering OC/PS Tawang, Inspr (IRBN) Rinchin Dakpa, RI, ASI Genden Chhota, ASI Ngopseng Monpa, HC (BN) Karsang Monpa and 15 others were constituted under the overall supervision of Sagar Singh Kalsi, SP Tawang to apprehend the culprits.
Human int was mounted and the night patrolling was strengthened in the area. On 26th Sept, 2019, at information from a secret source, raid was conducted at the said house at Lechheme Rong (where one Passang Rai and his brothers were staying at rent) and Passsang Rai was apprehended along with a number of stolen goods and house breaking implements. His two other accomplices were successful in slipping away. Efforts were strengthened to nab them at the earliest.
Massive search operations were made across the region. On 16th Oct’2019, at intelligence inputs by team of SB Tawang led by Inspr Kesang Norbu, OC/SB Tawang, a thorough recee was conducted at the hide outs of these two dreaded burglar at high mountain region of Nagula area (above 14000 feet). Accordingly a raid was conducted at the early hour of dawn with the team led by Dy SP Dr. Thupten Jambey and successfully, the two accused, Dawa Rai and Nima Rai ( at large since 20 days) were nabbed, while recovering daos and house breaking equipments from them.
During sustained examination, the three accused revealed that they all are brothers and are born and brought up in Tawang District. They have not studied past primary and were working as labourers. In the lure of easy money, they planned and started house breaking at night into the hamlets in the nearby basti. When successful, they started committing burglaries across the district.
Meanwhile after these arrest, at lease four cases has been solved, and Many more FIRs against them are being received. More than 10 to 11 cases of unreported burglary and theft have been committed by them.
The team who was involved in massive search operations and in nabbing the accused is being rewarded suitably. Further investigation is in progress.
