Arunachal: New traditional handloom and handicraft outlet opened at Ziro

ZIRO- A traditional handloom and handicrafts outlet at D.S Commercial Building, M.G Road was inaugurated by Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime during the 5th foundation day celebration of Ridge Multipurpose Cooperative Society (RMCS) Ltd. Ziro here today.
While applauding the venture, the DC said that Apatanis were the fore-runners of traditional dresses in the state and urged to preserve and promote the Apatani traditional dresses.

Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Society, Ziro Niklen Lego expressed happiness on the success story of Ridge MPCS Ltd. in the field of textiles.
He emphasized to explore more market avenues beyond the state as well. The DRCS also urged cooperation among cooperative society members which was the basic ideology of cooperative movement and assured to render all technical support from the department.
Earlier, Michi Amung, chairperson of RMCS Ltd. Ziro highlighted the genesis of the society and informed RMCS had got registered in 2018 with 21 shareholders of likeminded and un-employed tribal women.

Amung also informed RMCS was actively working in the fields of piggery farming, handloom, agriculture and horticulture for which RMCS was awarded the best District cooperative society and had won National level award too.
The function was also attended by Branch Manager A.P Rural Bank Ziro Branch Bishwajit Doley, panchayat leaders and public.
