Arunachal: Indian Army Holds ‘Know Your Army’ Campaign in Pasighat

The Indian Army organised a ‘Know Your Army’ awareness campaign at Pasighat as part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations to strengthen civil–military engagement.

PASIGHAT-  As part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, the Spearhead Division of Spear Corps of the Indian Army organised a ‘Know Your Army’ awareness campaign at the Pasighat Outdoor Stadium on January 27, 2026, aimed at familiarising civilians with the ethos, role and capabilities of the armed forces.

The campaign featured a comprehensive exhibition highlighting the Indian Army’s organisational structure, operational responsibilities, and modern weapons and equipment. The initiative provided visitors with first-hand exposure to the Army’s technological advancements and professional expertise.

The exhibition was visited by Pasighat MLA Tapi Darang, Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani, Padma Shri awardee Yanung Jamoh Lego, Superintendent of Police Pankaj Lamba, along with several other dignitaries.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local population, particularly students from schools in and around Pasighat, including Sainik School East Siang, as well as NCC cadets. Their presence added vibrancy to the programme and reflected growing interest among the youth in understanding the armed forces.

Army officials said the campaign aimed to strengthen the civil–military connect by fostering interaction, trust and mutual understanding between the Indian Army and civilians. The initiative also sought to inspire young people by introducing them to life in uniform, values of leadership and discipline, and opportunities to serve the nation.

Officials noted that the programme enhanced goodwill between the Army and the people of the region, reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to nation-building and community outreach. Such initiatives, they said, play an important role in motivating the younger generation while reinforcing the enduring bond between citizens and the armed forces.
