The Roing police on Tuesday arrested five drug peddlers and Addicts, and Khonsa police recovered Ganja from Khonsa town in Arunachal Pradesh .
A police team led by Inspector Abraham Taying conducted a surprise raid in the house of one Hasa Linggi, located in Shanti Market, Roing.
During the raid, 5 persons namely Hasa Linggi, Thuney Umpey, Meta Umpo, Jikom Meto and a juvenile were found in the house.
3 plastic packets containing pink coloured heroine powder weighing 6.70 gms and 4 plastic packets containing paper wrapped pink coloured heroine weighing 11.8 gms, one half burnt Rs.10 rolled Indian currency note, one Rs.10 pink powder studded coin, one Re.1 pink powder studded coin and 5 lighters were found and seized from their possession.
The said articles were seized in the presence of Town Magistrate CO Olak Apang and Dy.SP (Hqtr.) Opir Paron. Another co-accused and peddler Ratan Mega alias Binu, who is said to have brought the drugs from Tezu has also been arrested.
A case vide Roing PS Case No.31/2018 U/S 22(b)/27(a) NDPS Act has been registered and under investigation. Meanwhile, SP Sanjay Kr. Sain lauded the Police team for their prompt and swift action. He informed that with the joining of various Women Groups,NGOs, Student organisations and Public, it has become easier for the Police to keep vigilance over Roing.
Gangja seized from Khonsa
The police seized ganja weighing about 1 kg from a house near the PWD office here during a raid on Tuesday.
Based on information about selling of ganja in Khonsa town, a joint team of officials from the district administration and the police conducted the raid in the house of one M Bahadur Chetry, during which the drugs were seized.
The police have launched further investigation after registering a case against Chetry under the NDPS Act.
