Arunachal: Thief arrested with stolen items in Khonsa

Police arrested him when the thief was arrived a shop for selling the stolen laptop.



Tirap  police on Monday arrested one thief identified as Rajiv Mophuk @ Lowang from the market area in connection with a theft case, and recovered stolen items. Police arrested him when the thief was arrived a shop for selling the stolen laptop.

According to the police ,  One Racho Rina, a teacher of Girls Higher Secondary School  had been lodged a complaint at the police station on 6 September, stating that some miscreants had broken her government quarters near the power house, between 10 am and 12:30 pm on 5 September, when she was out on duty, and took away a laptop, two mobile phones, several household items and some cash.

After registering the FIR, a police team led by Inspector Tomai Wangpan rounded up several suspects and interrogated them.

On Monday based on a tipoff,  a trap was laid to apprehend the suspected accused, who was supposed to arrive at a shop to make deal for sale of the stolen laptop. The alert police team responded on time and apprehended one suspicious person from Khonsa market area.

During the interrogation,  Mophuk admitted to committing the offence, the police said. Based on his disclosure, the police recovered a laptop and several household items.

On further interrogation, it has been ascertained that the accused was also wanted in Khonsa PS, and had been absconding.

Meanwhile, the Tirap SP commended his team and assured to reward them suitably.
