Arunachal: 1 dead, 23 injured after Bolero carrying players meets with accident

1 person was killed while 23 sustained injuries after a Bolero pickup carrying around 30 people, mostly players met with an accident near Khanu village in Longding.

One person died on spot while twenty three injured out of eight seriously when a Mahindra, Bolero pickup skidded  off the road and meet accident near Khanu village in Longding district on Sunday.

Longding SP Incharge Dy. SP Mingki Tadong inform that the ill fated Mahindra Bolero Pick up bearing registration No-AR 13 6648 carrying around 30 person mostly were football and volleyball players, was on its way from Khanu to Wakka who were participating in the preparation for the independence day celebration.

One person died in the accident, the deceased have been identified as Gangngam Gangsa of Khanu village. The decease was a former GPM of Khanu gram panchayat.

Out of total twenty three injured eight were seriously and fifteen were with minor injured who were medicated and they were discharge after first aid and medication at Wakka.

The eight seriously injured person have been referred and evacuated to Dibrugarh (Assam) for further medical treatment. Dy. SP added.

Reportedly, the driver lost control over the steering wheel while negotiating a sharp turn on the hilly road  near Langgau.

Further Dy. SP inform that after registering a case Vide No 5/19 u/s- 279, 304 ‘A’/337/338, inquest and other legal formalities have been done and the body have been handed over to the family members for conducting last rite.

Added, Dy. SP. Further investigation have been launched to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
